Strathore Road, Thornton

Public consultation on new homes and business units

Dealership Developments Limited is proposing a mixed-use development on land south of Strathore Road, Thornton, Fife. New homes are proposed on the eastern part of the site, with small starter industrial and business units on the western part, the former Rothes Colliery.

No planning application has been submitted yet. We are consulting now, while the plans can still change, so that what you tell us can shape the proposals before they go to Fife Council.

Glen Etive Projects is running the pre-application consultation on behalf of the applicant. DM Hall LLP is the agent.

What is proposed

The site covers about 5 hectares. The eastern part is proposed for new homes, including 25% affordable housing built to the same standard as the rest and mixed in with it rather than set apart.

The western part, the former Rothes Colliery, is proposed for small starter industrial and business units of the kind that suit new and growing local businesses.

Green space, a surface water drainage basin, play areas and pedestrian and cycle routes run through the housing. The woodland along the southern boundary, next to the railway, is retained.
