Run by Paul Hughes - A Town Planner and Chartered Surveryor.

Paul has over 20 years of experience in the development industry.

Based in Glasgow, he works all over the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

He was previously the Non-Exec Director of the Lanarkshire Housing Association

He is practising RICS APC Assessor.

Starting his career in 2001 when he worked for East Renfrewshire Council where he created the Conservation areas for Newton Mearns and Giffnock and managed the regeneration of Barrhead.

His broad sector of employees has allowed him to gain a strong understanding of how to commercially appraise any development quickly and how to resolve any issues related to it.

His life outside of work is focused on all things round. He is a British Cycling qualified Cycling Coach and helps run a Junior Cycling Club and has a passion for collecting vinyl.

Highlights

Edinburgh Greenbelt:

Acquired the first Greenbelt release in Edinburgh for over 10 years for development, by identifying a site in Birdiehouse which has a low visual impact but excellent connectivity. Sold to Barratt Homes.

Tarmac Bishopbriggs:

Bought at auction the land adjacent to Asda Bishopbriggs.

Resolved the issue with the Tarmac site which appeared landlocked by implementing a Home Zone style of access to resolve transportation issues and sold it to Dawn Homes.

Highlights

Glasgow Harbour Phase 2:

Helped manage and develop Glasgow Harbour Phase 2, a site involving 1000 high-rise apartments. Due to the high price of steel, we had to create a unique construction, creating the 16-story tower from rebar and concrete.

Aberdeen Office Opening:

Wrote a new business proposal and singlehanded opened Dandara’s Aberdeen office, introducing family housing to mainland UK as prior to this it was only apartments.

Key highlights

Newton Mearns Maidenhill:

Formulated and implemented the Left-in Left-out junction to the south of the CGA creating independent access for TW.

Newton Farm, Cambuslang:

First CGA to start development in the Greater Glasgow area.

Edinburgh Expansion:

100 acres unconditionally purchased and the key strategy was that the third leg of the Edinburgh tram would go through the site, providing high prospects of future allocation.
